Peerawayt Krasaesom

Peerawayt Krasaesom was born in 1981 Surin province, Thailand. He is currently studying a Master Degree of Fine Art at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and working in Bangkok.

He is an artist and an illustrator for numerous major publications. His work has been exhibited predominantly in Thailand. Originally from the rural area of Surin, his natural surroundings became his playground. Fascinated by all natural objects, Preerawayt studied and observed things in utmost detail. This fascination later influenced his work after he moved to urbanized Bangkok. His illustrations represent a meeting place where natural objects combine with the synthetic to reflect his new surroundings.

‘I try to express my thoughts on “matter” or the objects around us such as air, water, humans, animals, and plants in my artwork. As far back as I can remember I lived a countryside life, easy-going and based in nature. Until, as an adult, I moved to the capital and life became complicated and I struggled. Struggling often occurs when humans, animals, or plants must live in different environments from where they lived in the past. So we must adapt ourselves to survive, physically and mentally.’
