Tatiya Udomsawat

Tatiya Udomsawat was born in 1980 Chonburi province, Thailand. He is now currently living and working between Chonburi and Bangkok.

Tatiya Udomsawat combines photography and graphic design to create his imaginary world. His work has been showcased widely in Thailand and Japan. Growing up in a family run garden shop he learned to appreciate the fecundity and pervasiveness of nature.

Works shown here have been drawn from his belief that the force of nature will outlive our species and overwhelm even the largest of our man-made constructions. A well-known shopping mall in the middle of Bangkok used to be filled with tens of thousands of shoppers, tourists, students, traders, police and pickpockets has now been emptied and covered in greenery. This view is the means by which the artist rejects the idea of the materialism that permeates our modern world and shows the impermanence of our culture.
